When it comes to having a passion for creating…I’m not new to this, I’m true to this.
My mom can talk for days about how “expressive” I was as a child, constantly mixing colors and extending murals from paper to books to walls. As the child of an amazing hardworking, single parent, I spent nearly every summer, school break, and holiday at the original House 273 with my intelligent and equally as imaginative grandparents.
My grandfather used his hands as a talented engineer to build computers. My grandmother shared her love of music, instilled within me a love for art and technology that I still carry with me today.
Beyond providing my creative blueprint, my gifted grandparents reinforced that if anything within me was saying to do something, I better practice becoming good at WHATEVER it is. They inspired me to be audacious, hardworking, and resilient enough to step outside of my comfort zone. The magnitude of their words to me and the actions their life’s work represent have been the building blocks of my success.

Before it was a business, it was
HOME.
For a long time, I described myself as a strategic designer. While that's still true, I've realized that the work I care about most isn't the strategy itself; it's the story underneath it.
Every brand, event, idea, and person has a story that shapes who they are. The more I've grown in my career, the more I've found that those stories are what inform the strategy, not the other way around.
Looking back, that probably started long before I knew what design was. My grandfather taught me to be curious about how things work. My grandmother showed me the power of creativity, connection, and sharing knowledge with others. I can remember them both telling me stories about their childhood, good and bad. I can remember being apart of family reunion planning meetings – just listening, observing.
Somewhere between technology and music, storytelling and expression, I found the foundation of the person I would become.
